Chinese Melody: Cultural activities successfully held by Confucius Institute at Bogazici University

Confucius Institute at Bogazici University initiated a series of Chinese cultural experiencing activities. On November 3rd, the first activity with the theme of “Chinese Melody” welcomed 60 Turkish students from Bogazici University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Aydin University and ?zye?in University along with Chinese, South Korean and overseas students.

“Chinese Melody” theme activity was hosted by Mrs. Xu Guang. She first guided the audience to appreciate the Chinese song of “The Girl Next Door”, a popular song in the 1990s in China, and get to know the differences in romantic relationship between China and Turkey. Moreover, the audience received the Chinese-style bookmarks as a gift, which were printed with Chinese poems. They all felt they were in a pleasing place with drums and songs which were based on the adaptation of these Chinese poems in the tune of folk songs of South China. Later followed by songs and dances. The theme activity fully demonstrated harmony and integration between Chinese and Turkish culture.

A series of Chinese cultural experiencing activities, organized by Confucius Institute at Bogazici University, have become a platform for cross-cultural exchanges among students. It involves Turkish students to know more about Chinese culture, improve their Chinese fluency.
